A Spiritual Growth

21
21.
Never before, thus far, in all of my living days I can remember that I experience so many deaths, very unfortunately, in one year as life as it is.
This year,
2009.

As a matter of fact, I never had any experience, close to a funeral or a death. There was only one time I had needed to attend one. She was my paternal side's aunt. She was at the age 40 plus. She was born with a handicapped IQ, in otherwords she was slow. She was never married n lived all her life up to her death with her mom, my grandmother. She even had speech difficulties. She died after slippin on wet floor, subsequently hittin her head on a hard surface back in 2006. I was still doin my time serving the national service. It was January if I recollect precisely.
And so I did not have a chance to go. Nor I could have had that chance to get to know her better even at her funeral. Because I never really knew her.

Earlier this year, I had a messy draggin on and off break up with a girl Ive ever been closest to than nyone else. When I tot nothin could go worse than that.
My beloved n dearest Grandmother, the only valid grandmother I only had in fact, passed away. Along wif my grandfather whom I nvr reali had a close level with as well as with my little cousin brother. He was 12. Theyre all my maternal relatives. They died in a car crash in March. They died in a car crash. The least deserved way to go for a pair of 70 years old.
I was needless to say devastated n I stil am now. I took compassionate leave from skool n attended the funeral that even got to da local chinese papers. During da whole time n also the aftermath days of their death I can only remember well the song FIX YOU by Coldplay playin in the back of my head.
Then I got to know months later in July that Ck's grandmother got in to a critical condition after lodgin into a hospital. He flew back wif Sukyee, his gf , amidst their birthday trip for Ck in Bali to see her. I said hard in my prayers to God during dat time that my friend wudn hav to go thru wat i had during da last 4 months. She left them eventually. I was there at his grandmas funeral as well. It was on the eve of Ck's birthday.

Now not long ago Pris was crying callin me one night tellin me her aunt was diagnosed with a cancer. Shes having chemo at the moment so we're all hopin da best for her still. I personally know her aunt bcoz Ive been back to her hometown alot and Ive always been aware that she has alwyas been like a second mom to pris. Besides that, I am a friend of her daughter as well.

On the night Kerry sent me the text sayin her beloved sister passed away peacefully. Hours into that incident I got a news from a fren that another fren of mine, Kwong Yik is not makin it to our bbq party bcoz his grandmother passed away on da same day.

Tonight, as I type in these letters, I am stil very much reeling from the impact of my grandmother's death 6 months ago, 9th of march. 09/03. Everynow n then whenever my playlist plays Fix You either on my itunes or my ipod. I stil do get tears jerked out to an extent. I was very close with my grandmother.

The last words from her durin da lunchmeal she and I had and when I walked down the steps outside the restaurant while i held her hands in mine stil echoes out loud. I stil remember It was only two of us at that time.
I understand the need to hav a shoulder and da yearn to put our weight on sumones else shoulder. and da moment to just cry on someone ur close to, like a fren. I know all da better, from my own accord during my grandparents n cousins funeral. I knew da weighing of da heaviness.

By saying this, her sister's death has affected me on a personal level. It inevitably brings back all da memories of my grandmas death. Too detailed to b honest. The heavy flow of emotions it brings itself together with reali kills at times. I really really feel for Kerry. Ive been thinkin bout her alot .

Sometimes, it seems like there are no words that can help in times of loss and grief. And although most of the time even everysingle thing we do may not ease the pain of the family members, still, we try to comfort the mourner and ourselves.
During the sad time following a funeral, these inspirational death quotes and quotations on mourning, loss and grief may help you console mourners and the soul of the ones who have passed away, in anyway that they can.

"there will be a time when all of the pieces will fit together and we will understand the reason of the pain"

"you have to find a place to put the pain, a philosophy, words of comfort, positive action.
Givin charity and a mitzvah, in the name of the one who has died, can elevate the soul of the departed. "

Have faith that things will turn out for the better in the future that we will be able to get thru this difficult and torrid time. That we will be able to discern all that has happened. That she is in a better place in the arms of God right now. HE is taking her in his stride and in every leap of faith. that for every single mishap, there is a condolence in disguise. Waiting to take place, or even happened without us realisin it. Or it is already takin placce.
keep the faith.

"Take the 1st step in faith, You do not have to see the wholestaircase. Just take the 1st step now"

Me and the rest of the friends just donwanna lose that cheerful always and funny fren we had known for so long. Hope to see you soon again.

We're always here for you my friend. Ever ready to offer ears and shoulders with arms wide open. And to offer love.
We love you.

And we mourn together with you in this time of grief.

, R.I.P.
In loving memory of her.

Nice One

Will dedicate this entry to a fren, Kokseng. He askd me out last saturday night. a very very improptu one without notice. I tot he was in kl last saturday so I texted his girlfren to ask her out to join me n the rest for a drink or sumthin. Turned out he was in town bcos he oni gone up to kl for half a day and so out of da blue pulled a suprise, inadvertently askin me to join him n her at the newly renovated Rum Jungle in Sunway Ipoh.
" come n join me n my sunway mates, be here b4 11. free entry til then " it was 10.05 pm.
o.0. Now this is labelled as a suprise to me cos he dun usually drink n he sux in drinkin n he sux at drinkin n dun usually drink n he is a stingy ass I think i know it. oh n his gf doesn drink too. lol.
Ok well, I was at Oldmans place when this suprise invitation came w/o warnin so I askd oldman to tag along but he was too tired after hours in da Raya highway jam so he decided to call it a night already. Fair enuf,
I made my way to sunway n at 1st sight there i thought to myself where da hell is da RJ, coz i wasn able to recognise da new outlook of dat club. When i reached da carpark lookin for space I drove pass a group of kids I tot were da 'lala' ones hangin out at da carpark gettin ready to shake their butt b4 goin in da club. When i got out of my car. I realised they were ahem, actuali Toh Kian Hin, Evon, guojians gf, Chan Saimun and William Liew n Keecheong n Jo Ee. lol. All my high skool mates, haven met thme for over a year. It was a night for them to celeb saimuns birthday actualiy. Greeted, hugged n kissed. so we made our way in n there kokseng was. turns out he was wif his mates celebratin another girls birthday too, Pin Jun, n so i wished her. Been hearin dat shes da latest love interest of Kwok Wei's. lol. But the suprise didn end there.

And in btween, I realised dat my 1st time in da newly facelifted RJ has got me a good impression for a start. It pull off a very very nice n fresh look there. It was my 1st time there since it was renovated.
The biggest trick out of da magic hat was yet to be pulled.
Kok Seng ACTUALLY BOUGHT US ALL DRINK FOR DA NIGHT. this stingy bastard.
128 bucks. i saw da receipt right infront of me eyes.lol. unbelieveable. kokseng of all ppl. lol. 2 buckets of carlsberg i think. Well i guess this was his treat from his 1st official real paycheck from his 1st real job as an accountant. walaooo. nice one bro. well u deserve all da credits la i heard ppl say 5 years oso cant graduate from acca n u did it in ur 1st try n being da only one from ur batch to paass everythin single shit u hav in ur hands. wat else can i say bout u. lol.
so heres love to u from me lol. oh n he gone all da way to kl to get his xbox 360 too. n his mom got him a pair of new nike kicks. haha good for u seng, good for u.
Well, jz like wat carlsberg always advertised n boast so proudfully.

Nice One.

Fairy Tale

INDONESIA

When I was 10, I had two friends who stayed just round the corner in my neighbourhood.
They were Keita and Osman.

They were da ones I was always hangin out with, doin the things, u know, the typical things kids of age of 10 would do to have fun like playing in the playground and venturin into the odd one or two orchards.
Well, back then, I can say that our taste for curiousity was really commendable : )

One day, coming home after school, I was ready to set out of the house to none other than joinin my little frens at the nearby playground. It was a Friday and because there will b no skool the next day my mom duly allowed me to go but anyhow had to have me back b4 Solat.
" Be back b4 Solat" , exclaimed my mother.
I was dreading at the thought of coming home early but oh well at least Im goin out to meet my frens now.

As I make my pace towards the field there I can see both Keita and Osman there already waving at me with conspicious big grins on their face beckoning me to join them quickly.
Once I was there, I noticed Keita wasn his usual joker self whom is always cheerful and as playful as the usual pratical prankster he is. He was like, quarter past frownin? So I popped the question askin wat was wrong n he said nothin but of course, Osman would later tell me that it was bcoz he had some tough lecturnin session from his parents and teacher for not finishin his homework on time. Well, we just told Keita to shrug that off and just rem to have to have his homework finished on time at all times from then onwards for me and Osman were already anxiously waitin to carry on wif our playing and fun with no patience to spare for Keita's hesitation and day problems. Well, who couldve blamed us, we were stil kids wanting nothin more than fun.

Then Keita askd Osman, the usual planner of our activities, on wat should we do that evenin. Osman would proposed forward an idea that would really test our nerves. He suggested that we should check out the house bhind the long overgrown bushes at the far end of our neighbourhood. The White House as they, everyone calls it. This is an abandoned, very old house which has no occupants for as long as I can remember.
I tbh, was never the brave one among us three, so it was natural that i questioned that suggestion from Osman. N i wasn alone in this, Keita also doubted that idea for fear of being in the possibility of somethin unpleasantly unpredictable in that house. All for the house is so said haunted by everyone we know in the neighbourhood.

Osman then literally laughed at our faces sayin that we were a bunch of chicken shit and that there is nothin to be afraid of actually.
Being a 10 year old kid, the worst thing dat could happen is to be the target and topic of the school's joke not to mention being labelled as wussies infront of the girls.
And subsequently me and Keita accepted the idea and dared ourselves to enter that house.

When we have finally reached there, there was somehow this very very large old banana tree beside the house. It was dirty yellow in colour with its big leaves blockin alot of the sun. U know how they alwiz come up with those folk ghost stories on banana tress right. So plainly seeing the sight of it just gave me the creeps. We realised that the house was much more than old, it was almost ancient! and almost like everyone has said, the house was painted in white, only white infact. the door to the inside of the house was locked with 3 different padlocks and chains, with boards nailed on to the door. this clearly tells that some ppl reali want outsiders to be kept out of this place. sending everyone out there a msg. And there was only one window in that house.

Osman, frustrated by the hindrance to his quest to get into dat house by those locks, suggested that we threw a stone thru the window so as to break it and we could go in. I remember da window as being one covered completely with dusts and it was impossible to look wat was inside. Indeed, Osman took a stone in his grip n hurled it at the direction of the window. It broke. I and Keita looked at each other and took a big Huge gulp down our throats. I was by now sweatin bullets. Osman gestured to us wif his fingers signallin to us that at the count of 3 we would jump into that house thru the broken window.

1.... 2............. (SEEMED LIKE FOREVER) ..... 3!

we took our turns jumpin in n of coz obviously Osman was the 1st one to b in.
once we were inside. i remember I wasn able to  see a single thing bcoz it was blanket by total darkness. But I remember feeling unusually cold inside it was as if it was da house living in its own different climate n weather. Once I adjusted my eyes to the dark I saw somethin worthy of remark n it was peculiar really to c a big banana leaf lying on a sort of table, with food, rice and some dishes on the banana leaf. all but half eaten.
Once my gaze was over, I turned to the direction of my other 2 frens. To my suprise, they looked shell-shocked. They were lookin at the direction on my left. It was like they were starin blankly at somethin with really really frightened expressions on their face. No, wait. They were reallyin sheer fright at the sight they were havin. I took a turn n look at my left to see what I missed seeing when I 1st broke in.

I saw it.
There was a lady standing at that end. She was in white. White clothes cladded long to her knees. It was too white to b exact. Her hair was coverin most of her face as her hair was laid front unkemptly and it was long. Hence i wasn able make out how she actuali look like. Her skin was pale, really pale. And there was a strange big n thick rope hangin out on her chest. I at that moment, stood there with fear runnin in my blood in my every single vein. Chill were runnin down my spine as she whispers these words..

" Aku ana cerita kanggo owei "

In split second, we bursted our lungs by runnin reali fast to wards that window and as we climb out of the window I can hear she whispers again, even louder this time.
" Rungokno "
We ran n ran n ran, not tryin to even take another look to our backs.

I wish I could tell you after this story of the history of that house. I wish i could tell u that there was a women who hung herself n her body was nvr found. I wish I could tell u that da food was placed there so that to prevent the ghost from disturbin the others outside the house.

After dat incident, Keita moved away to somewhere else with his family. And Osman fell sick with a bad and lengthy fever. I have never met them both again ever since.
Later on, I found out that the house was renovated and cleaned out as it was bought by a newly wed young couple. Only days into the their new house, the couple gone mad and killed each other.

Every now and then, I would stil hear the words she whispered to us in that house as I looked up to skies at night.

" I have a story to tell "

" LISTEN "

This is actuali a story I picked out from the Monash International Students Council's weekly/monthly booklet sumthin. I was in Monash last week and I grabbed it on my way out after havin a few rounds of futsal wif kerry. I thought it was really a good story n it captivated me well enuf to have it in my mind for days so I decided I have to write this down. Credits of coz goes to the person who wrote this, and though whether or not this is a real experience I think I will not find out. He is an Indonesean however. The booklet I left it in cc's place.

And so I have tried to remember every single detail of this story to try to put this in the perspective I have it exactly while reading it. Due to not havin da story with me now so it may at some extent differ to the original piece.

Good night.

Didn like it at 1st tot it sounded weird.
But Ive grew into it n no wonder its so high up in da billboard top 100 charts.
Hate to say this but Itll be a great song to dance to in the clubs.

Da opening sounds like "How Far Is Heaven" by the Los Lonely Boys a few years ago.
Nice song Miley but too much of da robotic voice. stop abusin the voice synthesiser or Jayz will come n get ur neck jz like how he did to T-Pain.
but oh wait, she mentions Jayz in the song, this might jz spare her.

Turn Offs

1st

of all.

With all due respect, I don mean no disrespect to the ladies.
This is by no means an entry filled with over self-righteousness or to an extent being ignorant of the other gender.
But I was jz surfin da web today, yeah i got alot of freetime now. One of my idle pursuits, I got to this video on YouTube by Shane Dawson on our biggest turn offs when it comes to gettin to know someone of the other gender. That video is supposed to b a funny one.

N so I started thinkin to myself on this particular question, hmmm, wat reali turns me off.
Then voila, the video highlighted bad breath as one of the turn offs n without a doubt that reali turns me off BIG time. Jz cant stand someone with that weird oral smell.... be it the one u carry from the last meal or jz the mornin smell after waking up hours of sleep w/o drinkin. Best keep our distance. hahaha sry. That tops the list for me.
Wait a sec.....
Or girls with bad unshaved armpits ........ a ha ha ha ..... @.@

Now.. im not sayin im perfect or anythin like that that gives me the right to diss others imperfection but hey this is my 2cent n Im jz writin this to myself as a personal journal?
And u know wat they say,
imperfection is the new perfection.
So no harm meant/intended. : )

well. wats the biggest turn off for u?

Goodbye, Again.

It was a sudden rush.
I cant give a complete answer as to how I came to this decision if someones to ask me again.
Me and cecilia was js doin our own stuff in da room, she was readin some of my Archies and I was contemplatin bout my results. It was almost half past 11. n Joey was to b checkin in at either 12.30 or 1 am. his flight departs at 2am.

Me n the frens have already a clear idea of not goin to send him off simply for da reason of not being able to. it would be too late for us n then no one except Kerry has a car.n she isn allowed to drive durin midnight. mayb as a punishment for sneakin out da night b4? So it would only be da usual suspects like Joeys cousins uncles and aunty sendin him, his brother Justin n his mom off. Hmm his dad didn even make it.

All Im able to recall is I jz suddenly broke my trance of worryin bout my results n then went on to ask her y not we take da klia express train from central n then nex thing I was on da fone wif Joey askin him how much does da train costs n how long will it take for it to reach the airport. then when i told cc itll b 35 bucks per person she said forget it ill see him nex year (LoL). after me myself sayin sum unbelievable stuffs which i myself find hard to blive too , like hey its oni once in a year n hes been reali good to us bringin us frens everywhere jz imagine if there was a taxi meter thingy durin those rides it wouldve amounted to a sum of far cry to dat 35 bucks. plus both of us jz got our salary from da bookfest.
as a result from that pep-talk cc called Ronald n askd bout da price of a cab ride from pyramid to sunway n he said it was 50 n so then i told cc wat r we stil waitin for . she quickly changed n we made haste to pyramid, ok well the ride in d end cost us 84 bucks but we didn think twice. n while on da way wtf the driver actuali stopped somewhere to pick up a/his china prostitute as it seemed n she was in da cab wif us da whole time to the airport.
we reached in time, 12.30am. n then we met him n his family at mcd's. he was, erm surprised coz we didn inform him bout us comin. her mum bought us some food. met Jasmine n Jordan n Justin too.
gave him a cd cover cum postcard wif a msg "Friends are Angels(assholes la haha)", had a few snapshots b4 he went in n erm he forced cc into huggin her by yellin at her to be quick coz he had to leave oredi lol. nice.

he left. n now we hav a big problem in our hands. to look for a transportation home to sunway.
looked for busses n no they were all out of service at midnight. so we ended up takin a "limo" home for 80 bucks. so in total 164 for both of us. we split it right in da middle. And dun forget to take good care of the shirt she gave u besides groomin urself nicely in it, very very exp shirt yah lol.

Remember how u told me you like that song "I'd Come For You" by Nickelback? well, thats exactly wat weve done .

hope ur touched. haha.

goodbye.
take care n good luck in ur undertakings.
til nex year. c u. I have important things to take care of now : )

p/s: waitin to hear more crazy adventures from u over there. n no u n cc wun make me love japanese food more the nex time ur home. lol

Guilt

Mum n dad,
Im sorry.

Mr Right- Now NANANA

AT the point of writin this entry, I think the Bandung trip is off for me already. Typin this wif a very very heavy heart. Pris and Tjin, arghhhh.
Long story bhind it and a boring one. Wudn b sure if i cud keep up wif myself writin it down here. But on top of all these, last thing i needed was an earthquake (albeit a minor one on scale) in Jakarta, n dat was da last straw for my parents together wif da h1n1 thingy now n my own insufficient independent financial . I basically waitin on kissin da trip goodbye.

ON to the more important matter 1st, now, my good good angelic fren aha dwen tjin is seekin for the Mr Right. and apparently i am supposed to help her look out for dat mr right as she will in return return da favour with the same manner in form of a Ms Right lol. Based on her MY KIND OF BOY tag in facebook I think it will b a tall mountain to climb to find this elusive Mr Right.
(hope ur readin this tjin by any chance) so u know im tryin reali hard on sortin ur future happiness out xp
so any takers?
AND then, my nose. hahahahaha. n so it came again. js like jack n rose they cannot be separated. seems like an acne is deemed to b on my nose everynow n then again. ok at least its jz a small one this time. but the only thing that is intriguin me now,
Pris, are u right now havin one there too? hahahaha
u know why im askin. we always get one at da same time or right after seeing the other havin one on the nose. good grief weird I know, but its seemingly inevitable each time it happens. I hope ur not da culprit this time who cause this, but well, if ur not n i am da one, then I hope ur goin thru this ZIT TIME wif me lol!
Good night.

Monotonic

Am now back in Ipoh again. this is my 2nd night here sofar.
I have been stayin in cecilias place thruout the KLCC Bookfest

It was good experience workin in it for 5 days I guess it was pretty much easy money n to merely say this is an understatement itself coz I also was surrounded by new nice ppl too. The co workers were great company and I have to say I was myself in a suprise to know dat we js clicked off well so quickly. well except for one though, however, there was one that was constantly all over me tryin to pursuade me reali hard to join his line of direct sales thing and u know how the story usually goes from here where theyll say how good this is n how much ull earn n all that sort of shit which i reali reali reali, oh did i jz say reali? no, fukin reali detest. im no new rookie in this coz ive experienced this scenario b4 seeing how one reali reali close fren of mine from high skool got ousted from da rest of us after joinin the same thing, went all out with an agressive approach on us frens jz to get us into his group of direct sales puttin our frenships on the line. He was alone after dat everyone was avoidin him.

no.
dunwan dat no more to happen to anyone.

In btween, I hung out alot wif Joey too.
Kerry n he came by to sunway so we cud catch the Manchester United vs Arsenal game together at Jaafar's right infront of cc's house. Turns out now Kerrys a "new MU fan", borns right outta the fact that Mickey Owen is now in Manchester United. eewww..

N i almost lost da keys to the house that belongs to cecilia too durin da game, I was in total frantic mode searchin for it in joeys car n then da previous table at da mamak dat we sat n lucky enuf lady luck, I got it back from Jaafar's Boss at da counter. fuhh.

Merdeka eve was all about me joey cc n Goh at this Burger King at Mount Kiara, n dat was that. Nothin too fancy jz a lil supper there coz joey needed to get his ass back home early his dad was raging angry lately n then there was this reason of Hungry Ghost Festival from him too. haha.

b4 finishin, theres these 2 songs I am currently on to,

Safety Suit's -Stay, and

Matt Kearney's - Breathe In Breathe Out. (Greys Anatomy Soundtrack)

now Matt Kearney will let u think dat he sounds reali reali like Chris Martin from Coldplay, n infact he does but he is not da guy from Coldplay. This song can get u hooked to it pretty fast n as it follows da sayin it will get u bored with it pretty soon too I guess.

off.
